1 Samuel 2:1-11

Hannah’s prayer before the Lord is a prayer of victory. It is a prayer that all of us who have experienced God’s Grace in our lives can relate to, because in her prayer she reminds us that God sets all things right, for the sake of His Kingdom and for the sake of those who are righteous in Him.

How can we relate as Christians? We can relate because we have been received into the same Grace shown to Hannah thought faith- through the hearing of the Word, our Baptism, and our receiving of the Sacrament-, which Grace acts for the preservation of everyone, who is faithful.

Because we share in that same Grace, we can then share in that same praise of what God has done for us. Whether we have little or much, whether we suffer or stand free, we do it all because we have God’s promises to us, promises that we know are faithful.
