1 Samuel 14

Saul was a rash man, prone to make proclamations that were not in his or his kingdom’s best interests. In this description, we see the description of ourselves, which are sinful people prone to sin. Yet, even in that sin, God still calls us to His saving Grace and puts us to work for the furtherance and glory of His kingdom.

With that confidence, we can focus ourselves on our faith and the work of God that results from that faith. Even when we fall into temptation, we know that we are forgiven, and in that forgiveness we can work even harder to resist the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh, thereby seeking God’s Kingdom and His Righteousness.
