20060716 Bible Study for the Day: 1 Samuel 25-26

1 Samuel 25-26

David was God’s chosen man, selected by God to lead His people and to establish the house from which His own Son, the Savior of all mankind, would come. Because of this special status, God protected and guided David in all of his dealings, even when men acted evilly against him. This was God’s promise to David, a promise rooted in God’s faithfulness and David’s trust in God.

We too are chosen by God through our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. Because we are chosen, we receive the same special status, the same protection and guidance. This does not mean that life will not be hard or that things will always go the way we think they should. Instead, this means that God will protect and guide us toward His purpose and the glory of His Kingdom. It also means that He will preserve us toward our ultimate goal, which is our place with Him in Heaven.
