Context for Matthew 12:22-50
There is no shade of grey in our faith. Either we have faith in Jesus and believe who He is, what He did, and what He wants us to do, or we do not have faith. This is a hard teaching, yet this teaching is our faith. There is no other salvation.
The nature of our faith is revealed in what we do with that faith. Of course, we are not saved by anything we do, yet how can our faith help but change what we do and us?
This is what Jesus tells us when He says that His brothers and sisters are those who do God’s will. Faith reveals us as God’s children by conforming us to God’s will. As we grow in our faith, we do more of what God wants, thereby demonstrating our faith through what we do.
