20070606 6 June 1944

63 years ago today, hundreds of thousands of Allied troops under the command of General Dwight D Eisenhower stormed the beaches of Normandy, France to open the Allied push to end World War Two. The sacrifice made by the men who engaged in that battle that day served as a bulwark against the threat the Nazis posed to the entire world. Continue reading
