20070723 World Watch Venezuela- Criticizing Chavez

So, Hugo Chavez has now ordered his government to expel any foreign national in Venezuela who criticizes him or his government of oligarchic, socialist sycophants. 20070723 Media- What’s Deteriorating?

I was struck over the weekend by the repeated use of a phrase throughout the continuing Mainstream Media coverage of Iraq. Repeatedly, the media referred to the “deteriorating security situation” in Iraq, implying that the country is going to implode any minute into a region destroying war. This assertion was presented not only as a fact but also as a foregone conclusion against which there is no contrary evidence. Continue reading

20070273 Media- The Power of Suggestion?

Many people in the Mainstream Media world want Hillary Clinton to be elected the next President of the United States. They want her to be President so badly, that they are campaigning for her on their own TV shows in an effort to sway people’s minds on the subject. Of course, much like the Clinton campaign, the TV president will offer us little in the way of substance, preferring to rely on flashy sound bites and promises that the government will take care of everything.
