So the answer is to raise taxes on gas?

Worldview Item of the Day

Congress, after defeating the idea of lowering the federal gas tax in the face of rising gas prices, is now debating raising the gas tax instead.

Keep in mind that this is the same Democrat Congress that claims that they want to help “working class” Americans. Apparently, this help comes in the form of paying ten cents more per gallon for one of the basic commodities that help such Americans work. Congress claims this tax is to make the roads better, which seems irrelevant when people stop driving because they cannot afford to.

What this idea reveals is that the Democrat Congress is more concerned about exercising their oligarchic power to spend the people’s money than it is about the people it is supposed to represent. What this idea says about the people is that we are dumb enough to keep electing oligarchs who are more interested in spending our money than representing us.

The United States may not be in a recession yet, but policies like this one will definitely help make such an economic condition a reality. Such a reality is something very important to consider when voting in November, that is if we can even afford to get to the polls.

I don’t think the oil barons think people will stop driving. Eventually the gas price will go up so high a lot of people will, “park it”. Then the price will go up again.
The US is broke. It owes $9,000,000,000,000.00+ to itself and foreign investors. Our entire labor force has been compromised by foreign investors. The rest of our world took our jobs, (NAFTA treaty in question).
We’re being robbed and we’re digging for more money.
We’re without 50 million people in our population since Roe v. Wade.
We need a new kind of economic system. We need the right people in office to do it.
The bottom has dropped out of the auto industry. Corporate financing is off the scale. Fuel cost is destined to drive up prices even more. Who really wants to save America? We can hardly save our own money.
There’s still some money in the system. Most Americans seem willing to work. We need to save ourselves from within. I’m not talking about isolationism, either. I’m talking about a period of mending and reinvestment. US needs to recycle and feel good doing it.

While we may not agree on all the root causes, we certainly agree on the solutions.
