Worldview Item of the Day
Do we need any more evidence that the status quo in Washington D.C. is breaking our nation. If you do, how about the fact that your audacious lawmakers just bailed themselves out to the tune of $2.4 million more of our tax dollars in the form of a “cost-of-living” raise?
Now, my incredulity with this whole situation is not that these self-serving autocrats in Washington voted themselves a raise–what do you expect them to do but to look out for themselves–but that these self-serving autocrats keep getting elected term after term after term by the very people who then bitch about the fact that they are self-serving autocrats. Again, what do you expect the autocrats you keep electing to do but to allow their raise to go into effect?
The problem here is not with the behaviour of the politicians who have already demonstrated they are going to behave this way, but with the voters who keep giving them the opportunity to behave this way. If you voted for anyone who did not support the bill that attempted to block the automatic pay increase, then you are part of the problem.
Until we, the people, give a damn about what is happening in Washington and do something about it, we get what we deserve.

It’s hard to imagine a lot of people who’s careers in the private sector were so budding, they decided to take public office and seem needy. Perhaps this is just a way to skim fat off the top before the soup lines open in our sector. I hate to say to humbly grant this Christmas gift from the quiet American, voting populace. If things do not improve before the next time, they do this again then lobby like a “two ton heavy thing” before the ink dries on a new bill.
