On 9 June 2006, Ted Galen Carpenter of the Cato Institute, wrote an interesting piece for Fox News about his argument for why the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi should be the last signal for why the US should withdraw its forces from Iraq. The death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was indeed a significant event in the ongoing military operations in Iraq and in the greater struggle against the terrorism fueled by Islamic fundamentalism. It is amazing how little the taxpayers, the 100% shareholders in the funding of public education, know about how the money collected is spent in support of education. Yet, many school districts are constantly asking for more while never really explaining what happened to the money already spent.
