Ends and Beginnings

20051231

Today we end the year 2005, a year possessed of so many ends and as many beginnings. The news is replete with reviews of the year’s newsworthy (or not) events that touched some or all of our lives.

It is truly fitting that we take one day to pass from one year to a next, to reminisce, and to spend time with friends and family, because it helps us keep the inevitable passage of time in focus and in context.

I will not bore my readers with my own version of what was important this year except in one critical respect: thank you all for reading this weblog. This attempt is the public face of my own significant event of 2005- endeavoring to become a published author- and the fact that anyone might want to read what I have written is a true honor and fills me with a rare sense of humility. Again, thank you all.

With these words, I close the year of 2005 on this weblog. I will write to you all tomorrow on a new day and in a new year.
