    Today’s passage is the clear-cut description of the behavior that must be exhibited by the leaders of the church in order for them to qualify for such positions of leadership. In our modern time, these qualifications are often overlooked in favor of popularity or because some Christians do not wish to ‘pass judgment’ on others, the requirements, however, remain unambiguous and relevant. A return to these requirements might be the very salve that the ailing modern church needs to return to its former state of grace.
