Leviticus 23

Celebrating what God has done is a common theme in the Bible, so it is no wonder that God presented in His law festivals for His chosen people to perform and celebrate. In these festivals, the people of Israel had the opportunity to take a moment and reflect on God and His promises for them.

As Christians, we also have our festivals, and they are not always the ones we think first. While we have our commemorations of Christmas and Easter, we also celebrate the festivals of Baptism and Communion as Jesus himself commanded. In these festivals, we see the fulfillment of God’s promises to the Israelites and our own promises of what is yet to come for those who remain in the Faith.
