Leviticus 25

The Year of Jubilee. What at thing to look forward to. Every fifty years, the people of Israel were commanded to celebrate this year by forgiving debts, releasing slaves, and returning property rented from its owners. In that year, equality and justice was established throughout the land of Israel.

This celebration was a foreshadowing of the forgiveness that we now find in our crucified and resurrected Jesus Christ, for in his sacrifice, we are restored to our original places in God’s Kingdom, as His beloved children. Our debt of sin is paid, and now we can return to the garden of Heaven in our own Jubilee.
