Deuteronomy 4:41-5:33

The Ten Commandments, the moral law, is the law by which every one of us will be judged. It is the law under which we live. It is a stark and direct law, leaving no way to work around it. It is this law that shows us our state as sinful humans, separated from God by our inability to fulfill its letter or spirit.

Thanks be to God then that He realized our incapacity and sent His Son to fulfill the law on our behalf. Without Jesus, we are condemned to die in our sins, separated from God for eternity. With Jesus, we have the reality of forgiveness and the promise of eternal life through faith in His sacrifice and resurrection.

Now, for us the law becomes a reflection of who we will become when we are glorified through God’s saving Grace at the last day. We will be reborn- remade- into children of God who do God’s will, a holy priesthood before Jesus our Savior.
