    God intended to protect His chosen people not only spiritually, but physically as well. In that light, we read the descriptions of the law presented in Leviticus 12:1-13:46. Preventing infection from spreading in a time when no one understood the dangers of bacteria and infection was a challenge, but God presented the Israelites with a solution.
    God’s law to the Israelites fits with what we know of the same God today as Christians. Repeatedly, throughout the rest of scripture- not just the in law, but also the Gospels and the rest of the New Testament- God promises us that He will not only provide for our spiritual needs, but for our physical ones as well. With the joy of that knowledge, we can set aside our worries about such things and concentrate ourselves on the great task of the Gospel.
