20060103 Tech Item of the Day:
    This is just fun. An amateur shortwave radio group convinced the Russian Space Agency to allow them to equip a retired Russian space suit with a radio transmitter and some electronics, which were then jettisoned into space during today’s space station space walk. The suit, floating 200 miles above the earth, will orbit for several days broadcasting on 145.990 MHz before it reenters the Earth’s atmosphere and burns up.
    Three cheers for amateurs and pioneers who make stuff interesting.
