The links included with this post reflect a view that I have been developing about our ongoing War on Terror and its sources in the nation of Islam. I believe that the post by Dan Simmons is one of the most poignant expressions of what the future could hold if the issues underlying the War on Terror and the spread of the ideology of the new Islamic Caliphate remain unchecked.

I will personally vouch for the veracity of much of what Mr. Simmons refers to in his post because I have spent the past several months slowly educating myself on the nature of the world of Islam and the desire of its most radical members to establish a new Islamic kingdom (caliphate). The rise of Islamic radicalism and the terror that brought about the War on Terror are but the first phase of that campaign.

Please take the time to read the attached links, and if you are so inclined, pass them on to others. Now is the time to defend ourselves against this growing threat, while it is still weak and in its infancy. If we wait, the enemies of peace and democracy will only grow stronger and threaten the very way of life we so often take for granted.

[...] After reading this post and the links he includes, I have to admit, I had to sit down and think for quite a while before writing this. Anyone who reads this regularly (if there is such a person who is so masochistic) will notice rather quickly that I don’t generally discuss anything of importance on here. My posts are at best humorous observations on daily life a-la Seinfeld and at worst inane and disjointed rants about people who have treated me porrly in life. I used to write about politics on occasion but I stopped a few weeks ago. The last two sentences seem disconnected, but there is a common thread that links them. [...]
