Deuteronomy 3

At the end of his leadership of Israel, Moses realized the consequences of his sin, for it was there on the banks of the Jordan that Moses realized that he would never set foot in the Promised Land of his people.

Yet, Moses had a greater promise than even the land promised to his forefathers. Indeed, he had the promise that all of the faithful, both those that came before Jesus coming and those who came after receive, and that is the promise of eternal life in Heaven.

The Promised Land of the Israelites was the foretaste of the future promise of paradise to all of the faithful, and that was a promise realized in Easter when Jesus conquered death. Because of Jesus, all of us who are faithful can now look forward to our Promised Land in Heaven.
