20070108 The New World Watch

With the New Year comes change and that fact is true here at Worldview as well. One of the more significant changes will be with the writing of World Watch. Previously, World Watch was a catchall for writing about world events. Starting today, World Watch will be a place where I focus my attention on developing specific portfolios of writing related to specific entities, groups of people, and nations.

Most, but hardly all, of the writing associated with World Watch will focus on nations within the so-called ‘Muslim World’ or nations being affected by that world. Specifically, a great amount of the writing for World Watch will focus on a select group of countries that represent the Muslim World and the forces at work within it.

Of course, like any writing, the writing for World Watch is limited by my own perspective. I am not Muslim, and I do not live in a predominately Muslim country, however my perspective on the events in that world and those countries adds flavor to the overall story of those places.

Currently, World Watch will focus on events occurring in Britain, France, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Indonesia, with a special focus on Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran.

As part of this change of focus, this weblog will add and change parts of its format in the coming weeks and months.

As always, thank you for reading, and I hope that you will find this new focus as educational as I do writing it.
