Dear Worldview Readers,
Beginning today, 19 January 2007, I am beginning a major overhaul of the collection of websites I currently maintain, to include the Worldview weblog, which will likely last several weeks to a few months. Why so long, you ask? Because my intent is to complete the planned transitions and upgrades while minimizing disruptions of access to the weblog or disruptions to my writing schedule.
However, as problems are inevitable, during this time Worldview may experience various service interruptions that I expect never to last more than a few minutes; however, I want to apologize now for any inconvenience these interruptions may cause.
As of now, the major plan is as follows:
* Effective today, the Dennis L Hitzeman’s Discussion Forum site will be taken down. I plan to eventually replace this site with a better bulletin board that is full integrated with my weblog.
* Effective soon, the Enigma22’s All the Stuff in the World Weblog will be taken down. As that weblog has no content, no content will be moved.
* Effective soon, the www.hitzeman.com wiki will be replaced with a single page index of sites related to www.hitzeman.com. Since no content will be lost, nothing will be moved.
* Over the affected period, all of the content from Enigma22’s All the Stuff in the World Archive, found at www.enigma22.com will be migrated to this weblog. After all of the content has been moved, www.enigma22.com will be taken down and redirected to www.hitzeman.com
* Finally, over the affected period, some of the content from dennis.hitzeman.com will be moved to this weblog. The wiki at the site will be taken down and replaced with a different content manager and the remaining content will be placed on that new site.
Other changes and updates take place during this period to the weblog itself.
As much as possible, I will try to keep announcements about changes to the weblog or to its related sites to a minimum, however some announcements will be inevitable.
Also, if you experience any problems accessing the weblog or its contents as these changes move forward, please let me know by posting a comment to this weblog or emailing me at dlhitzeman(at)hitzeman.com (replace the (at) with @).
