6:15 AM- Getting ready to go to the polls.

It’s quarter after six in the morning, the coffee’s brewing, and my wife and I are planning on being at the polls as close to when they open at 6:30 as we can. The way we figure it, we’d rather stand in line early when we have the time than late when the polls are getting close to closing.

Of course, it’s cold and pouring buckets of rain this morning too, but I doubt that the weather will affect the turnout all that much. Judging by the number of calls I got yesterday and the day before from the Democrat presidential candidates offering to take me to the polls, I suspect that there are going to be quite a few people even at my normally quiet precinct this morning.

For my area, the two big issues are the Democrat presidential primary and the Sinclair Community College levy. I’m not voting in the Democrat primary, so that issue does not affect me much, but the Sinclair levy affects me directly, both as a homeowner and as a student at Sinclair. Even with the property tax increase, I plan to vote for the levy simply because I see the good that Sinclair is doing (a rare thing with our tax dollars these days).

Well, it’s time to go vote. I’ll report back on what my precinct was like once I’m back.
