Interesting thoughts about artificial intelligence

The weblog Twenty Sided (by Shamus Young) presents an interesting set of thoughts about artificial intelligence and how we assume that it will develop a lot like our own intelligence. I kind of like his ideas about how AI can and should lack some of our basic motives and how that lack of motive could cause it to develop differently.

UPDATE: Not that anyone seemed to notice, but I added the link to the article I referred to in the post. Artificial intelligence may not have our motives, but sometimes our motives lack intelligence…
