    The Parable of the Sower is one of the most poignant examples of the mission and effect of evangelism in the Bible. From this parable we learn that it is the evangelist’s role simply to sow the seed- that is the Word of God. From there, forces outside the farmer’s role determine whether the seed is successful.
    From this parable, we should realize that it is not what we do that determines whether the Gospel takes hold in a particular person that hears it, yet we can be sure that there is no chance for the Gospel to take root if it is not spread. That is our role as Christians and evangelists, to spread the Word so that the Holy Spirit can work in the hearts of those who hear it.
