Judges 4

One has to imagine that Deborah was an interesting woman, both a prophetess and a judge over Israel. She was obviously a woman of considerable power, as made clear by her summoning of Barak to defeat the army of the Canaanites. When Deborah called, Barak came.

That Deborah was a woman seems out of place in a Biblical story so filled with the tales of men and their exploits, but that Deborah was called by God to do what she did shows that God uses His people how He sees fit when He sees fit to use them.

Because of that clear lesson, each of us should constantly be on the lookout for how God intends to use us in the service of His kingdom. There is no doubt that God will use us as He sees fit, but we must all be prepared to act on that Will when it becomes clear to us. None of us can ever doubt that God will give us His tasks in His time. It is only for us to do them when that time comes.
