World Watch Focus: Nuclear Menace

North Korea is marching steadily toward test firing the first variant of its Taepodong 2 ballistic missile, which missile will likely be capable of hitting targets throughout the Pacific, possibly even able to reach the West Coast of the US. This development is especially troubling considering that North Korea has nuclear warheads that can be mounted on top of such a missile. Continue reading

Bible Study for the Day: 1 Peter 1:13-2:3

‘You shall be holy because I AM holy,” is a high bar to live up to, yet it is the bar that God set for men in order for them to fulfill the law and achieve Heaven. We know, however that no sinful man can achieve such a standard, which is why our God sent His Son to live perfectly and to die for us. Faith: Which Church Exactly Are We?

The recent decision by the Roman Catholic Church to retranslate the American English version of the Latin Mass so that it is closer to the original Latin has brought about a variety of responses from ‘About time,’ to ‘Never, ever’. Yet, one of the most interesting responses I have heard to this decision was not directed to the nature of the change but to the nature of the church making the change. This response was, “I don’t want them to make the change because we are the church of today, not the church of 200 years ago.” Continue reading
