10:20 PM- Locally, Sinclair levy seems to be winning handily.

According to the Dayton Daily News, the Sinclair levy is winning with 55 to 44 percent voting yes with 43 percent of the precincts reporting.

I had a fairly long conversation with my brother earlier tonight about that very issue, and in talking to him I became more convinced of its benefits to Montgomery County and the entire Miami Valley. Without high quality centers of education, this area cannot hope to escape the ongoing demise of low-tech manufacturing in Ohio. Passing Sinclair’s levy helps move the area toward that escape.

And, by the way, the Ohio Secretary of State now says–and she promises—that all of Ohio’s polling places are closed. Two hours and forty-five minutes after they were supposed to. Because they ran out of ballots. In the rain.

Ohio has voting issues…

How do you “run out of ballots”, especially with all the hype about more voter turnout?

  2. dlhitzeman says:

I’m guessing they ran out of paper ballots because they were supposed to be a backup to electronic voting systems, not the primary means of voting.

Plus, a lot of Republicans voted for a Democrat because McCain was the “shoo in” candidate in Ohio.

Or maybe it’s just because Ohio has electoral disfunction. I hear they have pills for that or something.
