The Scotsman

It turns out that the stem cell research release by the South Korean biologist Hwang Woo-Suk was entirely forged. It was all fraudulent. None of it was true.

As I have previously posted on the subject, acts like this in the scientific world make one wonder how much other ‘science’ has also been falsified, especially in the past 50 or so years, in order to support the ideals of the scientist rather than the pursuit of understanding.

The reality of this deception should cause many scientists to look more critically at their own work and the work of their colleagues and consider whether the results they are generating are real, or the product of their fervent desire for their hypothesis to be correct. Perhaps such an evaluation will lead to a greater focus on the fundamentals of scientific research.
