Job 9:25-10:22

Now Job turns to his own complaint. Did he do something to incite God’s wrath? He is not sure of what it might be, so he calls out to God for that answer. And what is that answer? In future chapters of Job, God will speak directly to that point, but the answer is already clear for us to see.

We are saved by grace, and as a result of that salvation, God holds nothing against us. To be sure, the devil, the world, and our own sinfulness will continue to get us into all kinds of trouble, but we will not suffer because God’s hand is against us. What we can know for sure is that, even when we do suffer, God us using that suffering to build us up and bring us closer to Him. That all things work together for our good is God’s great promise to his faithful, and it is a promise we can cling to in times where we struggle the most.
