20060927 Bible Study for the Day- 1 Kings 5
    Today’s reading tells of the beginning of the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem. With the beginning of that construction, God fulfilled his promise to David that his heir would build the permanent Tabernacle in Israel’s capital, a representation of God’s enduring promise to be with Israel and make that nation His own.
    The building of the Temple is yet another example of how God always keeps His promises to His people. If God fulfilled His promise to David, and He fulfilled His promise to send us a savior, then how much more will He fulfill His promise to be with us and bring us to Heaven? That is the point of stories like the building of the Temple, to remind us of God’s enduring faithfulness to His people.
