20060915 Bible Study for the Day- Psalms 61-62

The Psalms for today’s readings are a reminder that God is our refuge from the troubles of this world. David’s Psalms constantly remind us of that fact, and it is a consolation that our God is with us always. This does not mean that we will not suffer the ravages of the world, sin sees to that, but we can always be assured that God will preserve our faith and bring us to Heaven. 20060913 Bible Study for the Day- Psalms 58-59

What gives King David the right to be so judgmental in so many of his Psalms? Who is he, a sinner just like the rest of us, to call on God to put down evildoers? David does not speak from his own desire, but from a desire created in him by the Spirit for God’s Will to be done. 20060912 Bible Study for the Day- Psalms 56-57

One of the most remarkable things about the Psalms of David is his constant, unwavering faith in his God. Even when surrounded by enemies and threatened with death, even when all hope seems to be lost, David calls out to God, not because he seeks to avoid his fate, but because He seeks the fulfillment of his hope in God, either in victory or in Heaven.
